TAJUDDIN ISMAIL

 

For Tajuddin, the work of art is the visual manifestation of the artist’s intellectual journey. In this context, his work is a reflection of his experiences and worldview, his spiritual values, his artistic sensibility, his dreams and most importantly his self-identity.

Tajuddin Ismail was born on 26 October 1949 in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. He received his Bachelor in Fine Arts from ITM School of Art & Design, Malaysia in 1973 and Masters in Interior Architecture from Pratt Institute, New York in 1981. He furthered his studies in graphic design at the Art Center College of Design, Los Angeles in 1974. Tajuddin was awarded a prestigious Fulbright Research Fellowship by the American Council of Learned Societies, New York in 1987.

Tajuddin served as an Associate Professor in Fine Art and Interior Design, UiTM (1975 - 2004) and Adjunct Professor and Academic Advisor to Sunway University (2011- 2013).Tajuddin has been actively involved as a painter, academician and also as an independent design consultant. He served as a juror to many national art and design competitions. Tajuddin is a co-founder of TJ FINE ART Gallery, KL.

Tajuddin is currently lives and work in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
